Hinrichs founded 2b3d, his current company, to produce virtual education and research v-business for corporations, create a next generation platform, and explore new forms of graphical languages to accelerate telepresence conversation. As a former Microsoft online learning specialist, he helped strategize eScience and ePublishing initiatives when he was at Microsoft, led learning science research efforts, and created the company’s first open-source platform for teaching and learning, ConferenceXP. His leadership with MIT’s iCampus five-year experiment and subsequent university programs funded innovations in gaming, internet based laboratories, academic web services, and pen-based mobile computing for learning. Hinrichs serves on the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology and the National Academy of Engineering advancing virtualization in science, math, engineering, and technology education. |
