Kurt Andersen is a writer, broadcaster, and editor. He is the host and co-creator of Studio 360, a Peabody Award–winning cultural magazine show produced by Public Radio International and WNYC. He is also an editor-at-large at Random House, and was a co-founder of Spy magazine as well as Inside, an online and print publication covering the media and entertainment industries. He also served as editor-in-chief of New York magazine. He is the author of the best-selling novel, Turn of the Century, as well as works for the stage and screen. He currently writes a column for New York magazine and has previously been a columnist for The New Yorker and Time magazine. His most recent book is Heyday, a historical novel published in 2007.
