She also served as undersecretary of state for management and director of the US Mint. She is a trustee of the Aspen Institute, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Asia Society, the International Youth Foundation, and the Women’s Foreign Policy Group. She serves on the Board of the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, the Leadership Council of the Initiative for Global Development, and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Poverty and Development Finance. She is co-chair of Women Corporate Directors and of the Global Heritage Fund Diplomatic Council.
